Oh Marco, we hardly knew ya!!

As promised, just a short blog post-dress-fitting and pre-Bachelorette Party #2...

After coming in on an intense flight Wednesday night, I've managed to get some quality time in with friends and family. Friday morning, the M.O.B. and I spent the day at the outlets in Lancaster. Good times, but dang, is it hot up here!! We spent the remainder of the day preparing for this evening's Bachelorette Party, hitting up the store for some cheeses and goodies, and of course lots of wine! Shockingly, I was so tired from the day's festivities that I fell asleep around 9:30! On a Friday night! My body must've been preparing for what's sure to be a late and wild night. Last evening as we were eating dinner, my father was commenting on the weather for Bachelorette day (Hot, hot, and ridiculously hot). He made the comment that "Marco won't be the only one stripping" - this demanded my immediate attention, "Who's Marco?" I asked. The M.O.B. looked at him and said, "Thanks." I started dancing, "Yeah!!! I get a stripper!!! A real one!!!"

You might be confused as in, "But, Tomboy Bride, you had a stripper at your Atlanta Bachelorette Party". Actually, the gentleman without his shirt in the Bachelorette pictures was NOT a hired stripper. He was just some guy that likes to take his shirt off and dance at clubs! How insane?!?! So yes, I was ready for Marco - a true professional.

This morning, my father generously woke me up at 7 a.m. (no doubt preparing for me for my 7:40 a.m. flight tomorrow morning) to get ready for breakfast. After our usual Dairy Cottage stop, we had a little downtime. Aunt Claire came over to pick up the M.O.B. and I and we headed over to Betty's Bridal where Bridesmaid Mrs. Smith was waiting for us.

The fitting was pleasantly uneventful. The dress fits perfectly and no major alterations are needed - even the length was perfect (sometimes being built like a 13-year old boy is a good thing)! So it's all just bustle. It looks like I'll be back for another visit, though, due to wanting to check out the dress one last time before the wedding. Every weekend she had open for an appointment was not working for me - we have 2 weddings coming up in August, a bridal shower the 3rd week of August, she mentioned September 11th which is when my cousin Bobby (Aunt Claire's son) is getting married, so we settled on September 18th - my birthday weekend!!!! Whooo hooo!!!

As we were checking out jewelry and whatnot with the dress at Betty's, someone was calling the M.O.B. Come to find out, Marco is unable to make the party tonight. I am crushed. I haven't been this disappointed in a man since Jake called out Vienna. What a bummer.

I returned home to find my brother and Bridesmaid Melissa already setting up for the festivities. It should be a fun night, there are different varieties of male genitalia integrated into the decor. So it will be a classy, elegant time tonight - and yes, I'm going to start drinking at 5:30pm. It's a marathon (again), not a sprint.

After this fitting today though, I'm afraid I'm going to have to lay off the sauce a bit. I typically get a seasonal beer belly when football rolls around and I can not gain or lose weight which means I can maintain my normal diet of Chipotle and brownies, but I can't overdo it. Thank gosh I'm training for that half-marathon!!! So tonight will be my last multiple-glasses-of-wine night for quite awhile. I actually train better when I'm not drinking, as you would expect, so it's for the best. Plus, alcohol makes me break out in my old age - I haven't figured out why this is, but it started about 2 years ago. So here's to one more painful morning and a heck of a day of recovery ahead of me!!!
