It's official!!! Our wedding date is October 15, 2010!!!
We signed our contract today with the Payne-Corley House. When I asked what the next step was our Coordinator Krista said, "We'll have an initial planning meeting about six months before the event." Six months!?! That's FOREVER away!!! Can't we plan now?!
Anyways, she did manage to tell me that I still have a number of things to do. The first of which is to find a great photographer. The second is to make an appointment with the florist and start to get an idea of what we want and how much it will cost (to maximize what we get for how much we're willing to spend). Then of course Bryan and I will be hard at work finalizing this guest list which wavers in between "everyone-we-know" (Bryan's preference) and "small-and-intimate" (my preference). Once we figure all that out, I get to play with save-the-dates - a task that I am way too excited about because I get to play with all my scrapbooking supplies. I suppose that's not very tomboyish of me, but I have about a million save-the-date ideas.
The best part? The PCH (this will be our abbreviation from now on, so get with the lingo) is hosting a tasting on January 24th. I am extremely excited about getting to go eat various foods for free. And of course I am already thinking about where I'd like to host our rehearsal dinner. The food is one of the best parts of the planning process.
Bryan and I are going out to celebrate having an official wedding date. Then later tonight we'll be getting ready to kick off the holiday season with our families as I begin the trek home tomorrow (with a stop at Miss Tami's place in North Carolina!) and Bryan heads to Buffalo on Friday (I'll be there Monday, the 21st!). Keep up with us on The Knot as well as I will be updating that for sure over the holidays!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
Wow I just joined my first blog ever to tell yall CONGRATS! I guess Bryan told Jon he was going but gave no details, boys! You have one of the hardest items to check off your list now, yay! Have a great trip! We will miss yall!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sonia! I'm glad you joined the blog :-) Bryan took the day off so we could go "make it official" today. It does seem like alot of things fall into place once you have the venue down, especially since they reserve the DJ and florist for us! We do have to go do the consultations for all of that stuff, but I'm really looking forward to the rest of the process! Should be fun! And we will miss you guys in Buffalo as well! I'll eat some steak roll-ups for you!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for a date! Excellent progress Soon to be Mrs. Hoey, excellent progress. Can't wait to hear the details in person. Safe travels home!!
