Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!

If you're wondering why you get a mid-afternoon post on a workday, you are correct, I am procrastinating. Bryan and I have a CRAZED weekend of wedding planning ahead of us. I'm so excited, I couldn't even wait to blog about it! So here's the game plan for all of you that want the play-by-play:

1.) Saturday morning - We are meeting with our potential photographers. I will reveal the name and website of the company if we do decide to go with them, but I figure if we don't go with them, it might be embarrassing. So I am holding off on giving too much information. But if their website is any indication, all signs point to a positive meeting.

2.) Saturday afternoon - Nicole and I are venturing bridesmaid dress shopping! This, unfortunately, is going to be a point of secrecy. I will inform everyone when a dress selection is made but the ultimate "reveal" will be at the wedding...so no peeky-peeky.

3.) Sunday morning - Bryan and I have our first wedding registry appointment with Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I am stoked about this as I do consider BBB somewhat of a Mecca. If you know us, you know that we need...pretty much everything that a couple would need in a house. I don't even think our everyday flatware matches...hint, hint.

Those are the major events for the weekend. In true Tomboy fashion, all of these appointments are scheduled around NFL Wild Card weekend (and it's not just me, even Nicole discouraged Sunday bridesmaid dress shopping due to mental preparation time for the Packers game at 4:30!).

The stressful-item-of-the-day is brought to you by Bridesmaid/Wedding Planner Mrs. Lindsay Smith who is forcing me to utilize Microsoft Publisher to design my Save-the-Dates. Let me say, I am pretty savvy when it comes to most softwares - I'd rate myself as an expert on Photoshop, for example. This particular program is NOT USER FRIENDLY. It's got some freaky blue box to serve as a "perimeter" in the middle of the page?? I can't figure out how to do anything in it - you pick a color scheme...are you stuck with these colors the whole way through? There's about 5 font selections which means you probably have to download more for a greater variety of options.

Thankfully, Mrs. Smith has offered to make up a template for me where I can just insert the text and graphics that I want. And you might still wonder, "Why don't you just do it yourself in Photoshop?" Because one piece of advice I received when I got engaged was "Take help when it is offered". And Mrs. Smith is not only printing the STDs (whoa, how about that for an acronym!?) but also recruiting my Mom and Bridesmaid Melissa to stuff the envelopes with the Save-the-Dates (I can't, in good faith, write STDs out again) and get them sent out. Plus, it's an excuse to screw around with another program and gain some familiarity with something that might be beneficial to know how to use.

So my only responsibilities are to design the thing (and even that I can't seem to do independently!) and address and stamp envelopes. So for now, it's a work in progress on this end...

Check back Sunday night (or Monday morning depending on how those Packers do!) for an update on our whirlwind weekend! In the meantime, I'll be searching for the perfect pinecone...
