After 36 hours, I can't take it anymore. All of my Final Four teams are out and I just don't care who wins this thing (unless Bryan pulls a sneak attack on one of our pools given that he has Baylor and West Virginia). If you don't know what I'm talking about, then consider yourself lucky.
Despite the basketball, we've had an overall relaxing weekend so far. I got to go to the doctor yesterday due to Bryan's fabulous health insurance (I could get used to this whole being-married thing!). I had an interesting reaction to going to the doctor because I usually reward myself if I am brave enough to do so. Instead of the usual reinforcement - a new pair of shoes, a new dress - I went to The Fresh Market, bought a bunch of groceries, and made myself an insanely delicious lunch. Then later in the evening I roasted a ton of vegetables - eggplant, zucchini, onions, and tomatoes - pure bliss! This is what I find entertaining now. Appropriately, I also dyed my hair to hide some gray hairs I found at the front of my head. I think I may be officially old! - "fogey-licious," it's all perspective, right?
Embracing this evolving aspect of myself, Bryan and I hosted our friend Dean for dinner on Friday evening. Dean had a huge corned beef he wanted to cook up for us on Saturday, but due to basketball being on, Bryan requested we be able to watch during dinner - Dean agreed to move the party to our place. This also involved Dean, not only coming over with the beef but also with his 6L crockpot. The luxury!!! Today, the beef cooked beautifully for 10 hours (with tons of veggies that were added about 7 hours in - amazing).
This brings us to the conclusion of another relaxing Saturday evening. In actual wedding-related news, our hotel website is up and running - and ready to take guest reservations!

As you finalize your travel plans, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. As I mentioned previously, we have reserved a block of rooms with the Homewood Suites by Hilton, which is right off of I-85 in Lawrenceville, GA. The hotel is 4.5 miles from our wedding venue and will be providing courtesy shuttle service to the rehearsal dinner on Thursday evening and the Payne-Corley House on Friday evening (Bryan and I will be providing transportation to get everyone back to the hotel following the wedding due to the Cinderella curfew of the courtesy shuttle).
The block is set up for guests to stay from Wednesday, October 13th - Sunday, October 17th, so all or some of those dates are what is available for the group rate (if you will be coming in earlier in the week or staying through the 17th, either call the hotel and request the group rate or e-mail me at tomboybride2010@gmail.com - we'll get everything worked out).
Please remember that our wedding is taking place outside of downtown Atlanta. So if you have the tourist itch for the days surrounding the wedding (Wednesday or Saturday/Sunday), you may want to consider additional accommodations that will permit easier access to the Georgia Aquarium (highly recommended!), Centennial Olympic Park, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the High Museum of Art, the Coca-Cola Museum, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the Atlanta Zoo, and many other places! I'd say you could hit up Turner Field, but there's no way the Braves are making the playoffs!!! Hahahahahaha :-P
Book the hotel, the flights, send us questions or call us! We are so excited and appreciative that our family and friends will be with us during this amazing time! I am going to Celso's Cakes tomorrow with M.O.H. Nicole to taste samples of delicious sweetness that will determine the flavor(s) of our wedding cake. I am excited to blog about this experience along with our upcoming engagement session with Caroline and Matt and One Six Photography on Tuesday!!! What a great week we have coming up! Happy Sunday!
