Let the Games Begin...again

Bryan has SHOCKINGLY (and I mean that as sarcastically as possible) not downloaded our pictures from the Vancouver and Oregon portions of our trip out West yet. So I have stalled on blogging because I really wanted to fill everyone in on our incredible adventures, but I realize some of you (well, Mrs. Smith, at least) are going through withdrawal and desperately need a Tomboy Bride update. I, of course, am more than happy to oblige because things are CRAZY around here lately!

The rest of our trip was absolutely phenomenal. I have lots of commentary on both Vancouver and Portland/The Dalles (Oregon) but I really want the pictures to truly do our trip justice. So that being said, I will put the pressure on Bryan tonight that maybe a few people want to read my running journal of the rest of the trip or he will have an angry-woman-stampede on his hands (which means me possibly pelting him with M&Ms...just kidding, I wouldn't waste M&Ms like that!)!

This week has brought us back to reality following our Monday return from Seattle. I am hard at work trying to finish out my last month working for The Big E. I am still desperately seeking a real, full-time grown-up job (and that's a whole other blog!), but am super grateful to be getting lots of tutoring hours in through the Summer (plus, I love love love tutoring!). I'm even teaching Math for the first time which will be...interesting....a learning experience to say the least. Oh yeah, and hopefully the kids will learn something too! :-) I'll write a woe-is-me, the-job-situation-is-hopeless, I'm-not-qualified-to-do-anything, why-do-I-live-in-Atlanta, I-will-be-poor-forever blog when I'm PMSing. It'll be one to look forward to! Just keep the vodka on hand for afterwards when you're weeping into your keyboard.

On a happier note, Bryan and I have a full weekend ahead of us. We will be headed to La Belle Weddings in Duluth on Saturday morning to (hopefully) agree on our invitations. Then we'll be on the hunt for the perfect tuxes for the wonderful, amazing gentlemen in our wedding party. Finally, we'll wrap our Saturday afternoon with our latest round of house hunting!!! I literally feel like we're on a sitcom that just got back from hiatus and we're starting another season. All new houses...same great characters!!! So the two of us and our saint of a realtor, TinaMarie, will be out and about in the June heat on Saturday afternoon.

Things have sort of kicked into a higher gear with all this wedding stuff - well, I knew it would eventually! It's already June! Under four-and-a-half months to go! Today I received documents from our incredible wedding coordinator at the Payne-Corley House, Krista. It had...drumroll, please...a seating chart!!! I'm actually quite nervous about this because I can be somewhat oblivious to who should be sitting with whom and whatnot. I'm going to need ALOT of coaching with figuring all of this out (that's another area where the M.O.B. comes in!). Luckily Bryan and I do know how we're going to name the tables...but that's a big secret until the day of the event!

A little more commentary on PCH: Our incredible photographers of One Six Photography (www.onesixphotography.com), Caroline and Matt, shot a wedding at PCH this past weekend. I got a great message from Caroline today telling me how beautiful it was, how fantastic the staff was, and how many great pictures we're going to get there. Bliss!!!!

Finally, I will say that I'm starting to get really excited about all of this since the details are really starting to come together. I've been excited, of course, and looking forward to the big day. The whole experience of all of this planning has been fantastic, especially with the amount of help and support we have from our family and friends. But now that it's approaching time for fittings and tuxes and seating charts and invites and music selections....well, if I could write the correct phonetic representation of a squeal, I would do it!

I feel like I have lots more going on in my head, but some of them are actually thoughts and feelings that would make me vulnerable to the blogosphere. So I will wait for another day after I've had too much coffee and it's the middle of the night and Bryan's alarm keeps going off for no reason - not that that's ever happened in this household! Oh wait, that was last night when I got an hour of sleep - to pour my heart out about all the things that I'm terrified of with respect to the wedding (don't worry, none of them involve Bryan not showing up! THEN there would be an angry-woman-stampede!!!). But yes, there's lot more to share with you! For some odd reason, this whole blog thing has not only allowed me to have a running (well, one-sided) conversation with the people who are interested in the behind-the-scenes of our wedding, but it's also been functioning to keep me partially sane!!!

The sun is out and I have a wonderful M.O.H. to take a walk with in Chastain Park in just a little bit. Check back in the next few days and hopefully there will be some pictures up!!!
