There is some very exciting news to share in the world of weddings and that is this: two of the invitations thus far have been reported to have arrived at their destinations unscathed! I'm hoping this means that even more of our in-town guests are receiving their invites today and then tomorrow, I'm hoping for reports that our friends and family in Pennsylvania and New York are receiving their invitations as well. Take note: I am not against everyone e-mailing, calling, or texting to let me know that they've received the invitations. It will make me feel better, honestly.
It does seem that the invitations did get run through the machine at the post office (this is the report from M.O.H. Nicole) but she said it still looks glorious when she received it. Let's hope the inter-state travel doesn't harm the remaining invitations in any way, shape, or form. Yes, I worry about these things. And, no, I'm not at all annoyed that I spent 40 minutes hand-stamping them at the post office to have them run through the machine. They made up for it with their timely delivery!
I will get to check out one of the invitations first-hand, however, as Bryan and I are making the trip to Buffalo for another wedding this weekend (we're crashing at my future-M.I.L.'s house). Bryan also mentioned he was going to upload and edit the photos from last weekend's wedding, but he has yet to do that. In fairness, he has been very busy reading books. He's been on a kick all week (Star Wars books and 'Eragon'), often staying up into the wee hours of the night as I sleep next to him on the couch. I've been on the opposite schedule, getting up ultra early to muster the energy for a workout (I've been successful exactly one day this week - today). And I've been crashing out around 10 PM every night (ah, I'm loving an actual grown-up schedule!) But I'm feeling motivated, so I'm getting up tomorrow at 5:30am for our 2nd attempt at a P90X workout. We did the p90X plyometrics workout yesterday, and after about 20 minutes and lots of 4-letter words directed at the man on the TV who was having WAY too much fun, I called it a day (and I consider myself to be in decent shape! - I guess not!).
Needless to say, our wedding planning is on hold for the weekend (from Thursday til Monday!). But my future-M.I.L. is graciously hosting a Bridal Shower on Sunday afternoon for us, so I'm very excited about that. I am trying to resist the urge to check out the registries....
Next week itself is going to be kind of crazy (I'm back to tutoring on top of working at the new gig) and the weekend that follows, we have a lot of fun things going on (a couples shower, wedding band shopping for me, and possible-house hunting - somewhere in there, we have a book club meeting).
We're only 65 days away at this point and there's still lots to be done! We're going to pick up the pace a bit as those RSVPs start rolling in, so stay tuned!
I just counted your blogs.... and If I count correctly, this is blog 79.... 74 in 2010 (75 comes today) and 5 in 2009..... am I missing something? Is there a secret blog society where the rest are posted??
