A Lunchtime Blog

I was thinking this morning about asking Mary, Ed, or Emily to meet up with me to eat lunch this lovely morning (although Mary is the only one of those three that eats as early as I do!), and then I decided, I'd take the time to eat my lunch while talking to my fans (ok, readers, haha). I have been brown-bagging like a superstar, at times making two meals a day since I go from one job to another 4 days a week. My newfound employment status has sort-of inadvertently been helping me shape up for the wedding since my lunch of choice is usually a salad (and I make AWESOME salads - tons of protein, veggies, some dried cherries, yum!) and sometimes my dinner of choice is also a salad (Publix makes some inexpensive, yet amazing salads). So thanks, New Job! If I do actually fit into my wedding dress, you'll have contributed to my success!

One piece of exciting news is the M.O.B. has purchased her gown for the wedding! She found it by chance while on vacation in Ocean City, NJ and she sounds extremely excited about it, so I can't wait to check it out in a few weeks when I go home for my final fitting.

Before I forget, I also want to relay an awesome deal that's going on down at the Georgia Aquarium. Just follow this link: http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/acb/stores/1/newclubfishlink.aspx?Conv_Id=949
and purchase admission tickets for $15!
As I've mentioned this is one of my top two favorite attractions (along with Stone Mountain Park). And the area near the Aquarium has a lot of attractions to offer (the CNN Center, World of Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park), so it's definitely worth checking out.

So 43 days to go...we're waiting to hear back from our realtor about the amazing house we saw last weekend. I'm starting to get worried that a Amityville Horror-like event took place in the house or something - I can't imagine how this house is hanging out on the market at it's particular price point. I did attempt the drive from Canton to downtown Atlanta on Tuesday morning. It, shockingly, wasn't miserable. I left at the worst possible time from the house (8am) and sat in traffic as expected, but it wasn't too far removed from what I'm accustomed to driving half that distance from Dunwoody. Once we get the disclosures about the house, we'll assess and determine whether or not we're putting in an offer. I'm trying not to think about it too much...

but I am looking forward to this weekend! Bryan laughed at me this morning because I said, "It's almost Friday, thank gosh." He thinks it's funny how I'm adjusting to an actual work week (although I have to be quick to remind him that I don't work the average person's 9-5, it's more like 8-9:30). The last few days have been extremely busy, so luckily today and tomorrow are a little more relaxed. I'll even have time to go to a kickboxing class on each day (that Bridesmaid Tatum's husband Eric teaches). I'm just preparing myself for married life here, people.

This will be wedding-catch-up weekend. I've got to start checking in with vendors, complete the design of the program and place my order (even though I still don't have a final count on RSVPs...grrr...expect phone calls to be coming). I've gotta get the info together for favors, make my place cards, seek out bridesmaid jewelry...and the list goes on. We are officially signed up for pre-marital counseling, however, on September 11th (my cousin Bobby's wedding day in New Jersey!). I'm interested to see how the workshop goes as it's scheduled to run all day. But my first order of business when I get home tomorrow after kick-boxing: take a bath and relax. The same thing I did last Friday. I don't think anything feels better than a facial mask, a warm bath, and a good book after working hard all week.

It's back to work for me as I just completed my first salad of the day (although I'm thinking maybe sushi tonight before tutoring). I'm a little bitter that I'm missing Georgia State's first football game EVER tonight as they're playing at home (in the Georgia Dome!), but I can at least express mad GSU love here. So until next time, GO PANTHERS!!!
