All is calm in the Tomboy Universe

Last week proved to be the first semi-stressful week for me. I'm not certain as to why, but I did do one thing wrong (in my opinion). I made a list of the things Bryan and I have left to do...and the list was LONG. Not long as in 5 things, more like long as in 20 things...and I was certain I had left 20 other things out. Up until this point, this hasn't bothered me. But I just felt like snapping at Bryan at random points in time on Thursday after I had spent 10 hours of what was supposed to be a workday looking up limousine companies, quoting ceremony musicians, responding to e-mails from vendors (including an extensive back-and-forth with our florist which culminated in the conclusion that I needed to go back for another consultation). Then I was thinking about how to organize the two days of wedding events that we will have (rehearsal dinner night and wedding night), so I started making an itinerary of who was moving where and when. Not only that, where is our rehearsal dinner taking place? I don't know. So not only do I not know where we're going, I don't know how everyone is going to get there. Will the courtesy shuttle from one of our hotels transport people? Which hotel are we leaning towards? Do they have a restaurant that might be nice?

Long story short? I made alot of work for myself that didn't need to be done exactly at this point and self-induced an anxiety attack.

I quickly figured out that the best thing to do was to look at my beautiful wedding planner that I had gotten at Michael's that brings me joy because it has stickers!!! The other reason I like this darn planner so much? Well, because it breaks everything up into time periods (9-12 months before the wedding, 6-9 months before the wedding, and so on). And according to this planner we are right on track! Yes, Bryan says to me all the time, "Don't stress, we're right on track!" but due to Bryan's extensive history with never having anything done on time, that statement doesn't hold alot of credence coming from him. But I will take the planner's word for it!!!

Once I decided to stop freaking out, we had a most enjoyable weekend. I also realized I desperately want a fondue set thanks to an AMAZING dinner cooked by our friend Dean Seneca and his lovely girlfriend, Ellen. This will show up on a registry soon enough.

At this point, the STDs (Save-the-Dates, you pervs) have been sent out. And we are at a point of relaxation at Chez Soon-to-be-Hoey/Hoey. In fact, I'm probably too relaxed after an incredible Sushi Dinner/BCBG Dress Shopping Extravaganza with Bridesmaid Lindsay G. (a.k.a. Lindsay "down here")! Granted, you'll all eat a few less hors d'oeuvres, but at least I'll have looked fabulous at the upcoming engagement party...I'm kidding! (sort of...).

I've actually done nothing wedding-related this week - probably because I'm trying to make up for all of the work I should've had done last week (shhh....this is our secret). I'm sure Bridesmaid Mrs. Smith will come up with something for me to do soon enough. The plan for the rest of the week? Work off all of the wine and champagne I drank tonight with a few more kickboxing sessions, work hard, and sneak in some quality time with a scanner at Macy's before Bryan gets back from Utah Saturday a.m. Ain't love grand??? :-)
