And the winner is....oh wait, I can't tell you that

Two posts in one day??? I know, you're SO excited! But I had to blog about this.

We made it to Betty's Bridal today despite the Snowicane giving us a whopping 2 inches on the driveway (which I promptly shoveled like a good daughter, thank you very much). So just after 2pm, M.O.H. Nicole, Aunt Claire, Mom and I were ushered to a room with tons of wedding gowns in every space. Slightly overwhelmed, Betty brought me into a separate room where she put me in a much nicer, more comfortable version of the bra-contraption I was in last night. I'm guessing I liked this one better because it was thinner and not trying to tame my "bumpy" stomach. She also put a petticoat on me right away. So before we've even discussed what styles I liked, girlfriend had me in my undies.

Jokingly, I yelled from behind the curtain that I was showing Aunt Claire, Mom, and Nicole option #1 - me in my bra-contraption and petticoat. It was sexy, they all agreed. Needless to say, Betty started pulling dresses. One by one we vetoed...every selection (I'm gonna guess about 6-8 dresses in a row). The one from last night was still in my head, but is that really my dress? As I was standing in one of the banished gowns, I saw a dress to my right and asked Betty if I could try it on.

Perfection. We had found it. This dress kicked the other dress' butt.

What does it look like? What's the style? You're going to have to wait to see, my mother has requested complete secrecy. Don't forget, my mother's Italian. If you give up an Italian secret, you swim with the fishes. The only people in the UNIVERSE that will know about that dress until October 15 are the ones that were in that room. I will tell you it is the most perfect dress that I have ever put on. You will probably cry, I almost did - and I don't cry.

How do I feel? Well, to quote a trigger-happy cowboy, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. We did what we needed to do in coming up here, now I can rest easy. And Mom is excited because ordering from Betty's means I get to take an extra trip home for a fitting. Tonight's festivities involve taunting my Dad with the fact that he doesn't know what the dress is like, visiting with friends, and getting some rest since I couldn't sleep last night with all this dress excitement. The rest of the weekend of course involves the Science Fair and Bridesmaid Dress shopping as I mentioned in the last blog. And throughout all of this, hopefully, Nicole will get to enjoy the sights of Philadelphia. Then Sunday night it's back to Atlanta!
