Don't worry, I didn't get all intellectual in the blog this time. My brain is much too fried for that right now and I have been boring people all day, so I certainly don't want to bore my readers. I am merely blogging to entertain myself for awhile, so hopefully I manage to entertain whomever is reading this as well. It's been an interesting week balancing Spring Break of the kiddies I tutor (these "kiddies" are a good 16-17 years old, but it just seems like so long ago to me that I was that age!) with the work I'm responsible for in the lab. I can't really complain as it is a crazy amount of hours and I get to talk to kids about Science all day which is what I like to do anyways (AP Bio is my favorite thing in the world to tutor). The downside is because I am at the center all day there are periods of one-hour breaks between students at different times. This is fantastic as it gives me ample time to work on some of my data-crunching for The Big E (otherwise known as Elliott, my boss in the lab). Speaking of which, it's his birthday today. Happy Birthday, Boss! And if you're reading this, I'm working, I really am, I swear. I'm analyzing data as we speak!
Anyways, my mother brought it to my attention that I did not publicize my last blog post as effectively as I normally do. This was a result of not having a cute/witty 100-characters worth of commentary to accompany the link on Facebook. I was that tired when I wrote that blog. That being said, if you haven't read the last blog post, I encourage you to read it. Especially if your last name is Zaccarelli. And if your last name is not Zaccarelli, make like a Zaccarelli and book your hotel room!!! As I write this, AOL.com interrupted my train of thought by flashing me with the news that Tiki Barber and his wife have separated. If you don't know who Tiki Barber is, consider yourself lucky. I have NEVER liked him. EVER. Reason #1: He was on the New York Giants. Reason #2: He was on the New York Giants and OBNOXIOUS. Reason #3: He considers himself one of the greatest runningbacks ever, yet has nothing to show for it. Ok, well Reason #3 is funny. But I still dislike him. The headline reads that he left his 8-months-pregnant (with twins!) wife for a former NBC intern.
Why is this important? Well, seriously, how many more husbands have to cheat before this STOPS MAKING THE NEWS? I don't want to watch another Tiger press conference, nor do I want to hear about Jesse James making whoopie while dressed as a Nazi. And moreover, I certainly don't want to hear about Whoopi making whoopie!!! There is nothing more depressing for a woman about to marry the love of her life than to constantly read/hear about men who betray their wives. I'm tired of it. Can someone please tell me a cute Faith Hill and Tim McGraw story? And I hope Tiger shoots a 395 - or something really really bad - at the Masters. There, I said it!
Before I was so rudely interrupted by Tiki and his tiki, I was going to continue to ramble about my excitement for this Friday when I get to meet the beautiful Giada De Laurentiis! I am in-between wanting to wear my new blue shorts from Express or a pretty summer dress. I'm leaning towards the shorts and some hot heels. Because, you know, she's going to take serious note of what I'm wearing! I know, I'm so ridiculous sometimes. However, if I am fortunate enough to get a picture taken with her, I want it to be a great picture (unlike resorting to getting a picture of my back taken with Stephen King since pictures were not allowed at that signing)!
We're getting closer and closer to the Greene-Melton Wedding next weekend. I'm stoked, not only to be part of the union of such great friends, but because Megan picked a seriously wonderful bridesmaid dress :-)
Other random thoughts:
-Bryan and I made some amazing progress in house-hunting as we got linked up with a great realtor through Miss Mary Beth. For anyone that's curious, we are focusing on Duluth (which you may recognize as the suburb of Atlanta in which we're getting married!).
-I'm in desperate need of going to the drive-in or a baseball game this weekend (although I haven't bothered to check to see whether the Braves are even in town). The weather is supposed to be fantastic!
-Atlanta is under attack by pollen. Bryan is actually suffering from it for the first time in our entire relationship. He has always bragged he never feels symptoms of the allergy-variety, so this tells you how bad it is this Spring (if we can call this Spring).
-Another Spring-related note, if you don't know this about me, I am petrified of insects that fly and make a buzzing noise. I'm not certain if it's just me, but the bees and wasps in Atlanta look HUGE this year. Someone is spraying some anabolic steroid-infested herbicides on something because I have never seen bugs this big. Thanks to my parents who had the movie on repeatedly the last time I was home, every time I'm in the car and I see these huge things flying around, all I can think of is The Mist. And that...didn't end well.
I think that's all that is in my head for now. I have a few more hours of Science Talk (does this not sound like a TV show?) to get through (although this late in the day - 4:30pm - I'm about to hit auto-pilot). There should more actual wedding-related news to report next week. On my agenda: making a preliminary playlist (if you have any requests, you have to let me know! tomboybride2010@gmail.com), booking transportation, and sucking it up and selecting invitations - even if it means cutting letters out of magazines to make monograms!!!
Stay cool!
